Manufactured by Harman Technology, the same company behind Ilford, Kentmere Pan 200 brings professional-grade black and white performance to an accessible price point. This ISO 200 panchromatic film delivers the best balance in the Kentmere lineup, with noticeably finer grain than Kentmere 400 and stronger contrast than either the 100 or 400 versions.  The result is punchy, dramatic images with rich blacks, crisp detail, and smooth tonal transitions that hold up whether you are shooting street, architecture, portraits, or everyday documentary work.

Specially formulated for photographers who prefer a more contrasty look, the film uses a low-density base that enables higher contrast while retaining shadow detail and maintaining well-controlled grain in darker areas. It is an excellent choice for high quality enlargements and high-resolution scans, making it a natural fit for darkroom printing and digital hybrid workflows alike. Affordable enough to shoot daily, sharp enough to take seriously.

Best for: budget black and white 35mm film, ISO 200 panchromatic film, high contrast black and white film, street photography film, analog film for beginners, affordable black and white film, Ilford alternative 35mm, fine grain black and white negative film, best budget B&W film 2025
